We were told there'd be no arithmetic....errrrr 0.8mS is 1250Hz.....

I see thanks. My BW is several hundred MHz wide, so no all DSP tuning for me.Rich

Also if your frequency hopping is within the analog bandwidth of the radio you may be able to use DSP tuning, which has almost instantaneous reactions.

With that particular radio, yes.On 03/03/2016 08:35 PM, Richard Bell wrote:
I was reading in a separate thread that soon to be released UHD code will allow lock times on the order of 0.8 ms. Does this mean the fastest we should expect to get a frequency hopping radio to work is at a hop rate of 1/0.008 = 125 Hz?
Thanks,
Rich
That was for the B2xx series and E3xx series, which are based on the AD9361/AD9364 chips, which were never really designed for
fast frequency-hopping applications.
The other RF cards, like WBX, SBX, CBX have faster PLL synthesizers, so faster hopping is possible, although there are host-to-radio
transaction times to consider as well.
