What do people who opined on these matters think about the default
proposed in https://debbugs.gnu.org/cgi/bugreport.cgi?bug=66394#249,
in the 3rd patch there?
https://debbugs.gnu.org/cgi/bugreport.cgi?bug=66394#276 seems to
indicate at least two people think it's a good default.

Please post your opinions either here or in that bug discussion (but
