Hi all

February was quite rough but went well. I am gonna need a long holiday
when this is all over :)

Things are looking good on the whole, we need to start putting chemistry
together as physics is coming along nicely. Here is a summary of what
happened in February.

Milestones:
- 250 pages (not a real milestone but pretty cool nonetheless)
- Delivered 5 physics chapter to PGSE students for editing
- Algebra, differentiation and trigonometry are all progressing
     nicely
- Chemisty is also coming along nicely we need to get the rest of
     the contributions in.

Events
- We were contacted by Warrick Selzer who owns a publishing business
in Gauteng. His business includes print-on-demand services.
We need to start working on a budget and distribution plan.
Warwick sent us some details and for a B5 200 page perfect bound
book it will cost R38. This will be our upper limit as we can
reduce this by doing a lithographic print. We will send him a
draft of physics soon and he will print us a sample.

New members and help
- Marcus Gulver joined and has started working on a new website and
     logo for the project.
- Clare Johnson has agreed to help edit maths and
might contribute some sections of trig.
- Helen Seals has joined up and will be helping
     finish off physics.
- Ismail Akhalwaya has joined and is interested in contributing to
     maths.
- Lynn Greeff has expressed interest in helping and she is going to be
working on the covers for the books.
- Marcus Oldenburg has agreed to help and he will consider working on
starting the properties of matter chapter.
- Mark Gilbert also joined and he will be helping with editing.
- Brett Cocks has joined and is helping by writing a chemistry
     chapter.

Requests to all of you
- Can we get outstanding contributions in.
- Essay help - if you know someone who could write an essay
please let me know - engineers, pilots, doctors ... anyone
who uses science - the essay only needs to be 1 A4 page.
I will have an example up within a week.
- Recruit if you can - many hands make light work!

Priorities for March
- Complete physics
- Get final drafts of contributions to maths and chem
- Rough draft of distribution plan
- Explore potential legal aspects in more detail

Hope everyone is well!

Cheers

Mark
