[fluid-dev] installing fluidsynth + midishare on Mac OS X

I installed midishare with the dmg, but I seem to be having trouble
getting fluidsynth to use it.

Do you have any idea what is going on here?

./configure --disable-jack-support --enable-midishare

*snip*

checking machine/soundcard.h usability... no

checking for machine/soundcard.h... no
configure: WARNING: *** Could not find soundcard.h, disabling OSS driver
checking MidiShare.h usability... no

configure: WARNING: MidiShare.h: present but cannot be compiled
configure: WARNING: MidiShare.h: check for missing prerequisite headers?
configure: WARNING: MidiShare.h: see the Autoconf documentation
configure: WARNING: MidiShare.h: section "Present But Cannot Be Compiled"
configure: WARNING: MidiShare.h: proceeding with the preprocessor's result
configure: WARNING: MidiShare.h: in the future, the compiler will take

checking for MidiOpen in -lMidiShare... no
configure: WARNING: *** Could not find the required MidiShare library

*snip*

The summary says

MidiShare: yes

But fluidsynth (or fluidsynth -m midishare) says

fluidsynth: error: Couldn't find the requested midi driver
Failed to create the MIDI thread; no MIDI input
will be available. You can access the synthesizer
through the console.
fluidsynth version 1.0.4

Any help would be appreciated.
Joe
