In this case this should go to the ticket tracker for future
implementation. Anyone for confirmation?

Nada,

If I remember correctly the server is disabled for the Windows build because
the code for this feature uses Unix file descriptors for the sockets and does
regular read()/write() on the sockets. None of that works on Windows where a
first class socket object must be created and send()/recv() used instead.

Hello,

I am trying to get the fluidsynth server to work on
Windows. I use the
version bundled with QSynth.
When I run fluidsynth with
fluidsynth -is VintageDreamsWaves-v2.sf2
the command seems to exist immediately and I get an error
(impossible
to connect to host) when I then run
telnet localhost 9800

Still, if I just run
fluidsynth VintageDreamsWaves-v2.sf2
I am able to send notes and hear them.

However, I'd like to run fluidsynth as a server so that
I can send
notes from Python using telnet.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks. Best Regards,
~n
