Folks, you can watch Houston Mission Control right now monitoring a gcmd
instance on the huge main screen (on the left side). Also some nice
transmissions from the Atlantis launch of this night (their evening, that is)
and from inside the ISS, where they still have lots of old thinkpads running
Gnome.
Just go to http://www.nasa.gov/ntv and click through to the 'public channel'.
It opens the stream on the root window, so be prepared (by means of dedicated
workspaces.)
(With Linux and firefox, you would probably need the mozilla mplayer plugin
installed.)
It's a great thing, and though i admit it's not strictly related to filemanager
issues, there are two things that gcmd and Mission Control generally have in
common:
1. Preferably work at 'midnight'
2. Coolness.
Have a nice morning ! --Micha
*If you feel completely lost, mplayer seems to stop with keyboard shortcut 's'.
