I came across a good technical article which is really worth trying out.


http://www.linux.com/feature/116693 Here there are some tweaks that can
help to speedup you disk IO. I think prelink is no longer necessary
because the concept behind prelinking is handled by default in latest
version of GNOME (Ubuntu Feisty Fawn). I'm yet to work it out on my
machine, so be careful before messing with hardware.

Also the latest developments in compiz-fusion are simply amazing.

I will be glad if the above stuff really worked for anyone. Do share
your personal tweaks so that the entire community will get to know the
endless possibility to customize Linux.
