Will this also support protected M4Ps, stuff bought from the iTunes store in other words, thus saving the MP3 conversion?

I'm using gnump3d 2.8 on a Debian unstable machine. MP3's and Ogg Vorbis
files are working fine, but I can't get m4a files to work. According to
the changelog, m4a files are supported since some time ago - have I
forgotten to set something in the server configuration?

  you shouldn't need to set anything. I see that the latest Debian
 package has:

$AUDIO_SUFFIXES{ "m4a" }  = 1;

  In /usr/share/perl5/gnump3d/files.pm which should be sufficient to
 make the .m3a files be listed in the output pages.

  What do you see when you run it? Are the files listed in the
 webpages? Do they appear in playslists if you download one manually?

  What version of the server are you running?
