OK, I had maybe half a dozen trivial -ms texts lying around with this
sequence at the top, before anything was rendered:
.nr PO 2i
.po \n(POu
I applied the patch to groff you posted, and tried removing the .po request.
The result was good: the exact same rendering for both -Tps and -Tlatin1.
...except for the document with a title page (.RP) -- that page got a
different indentation.
What's right and what's wrong? I don't have the energy to try... oh, wait,
yes I have: ... Solaris' nroff will produce identical output with or without
that extra .po.
Anyway, I guess the patch is an improvement. From my point of view, at
least.
