tarballs with configure include official releases;  are there any
others, e.g. the nightly product of `make distcheck' of git done by a
buildbot?  If not, I suspect we'll have a few folks turn up that use git
just to test a bug is fixed, or because the release looks long in the
tooth.  That's fine, just trying to find out what
tarballs-with-configure exist.
