[Health] GNU Health in Indonesia

Good Morning,

I have come across your website while researching health information systems in Indonesia.

I am an Australian volunteer on a capacity-building assignment in Indonesia - specifically Maumere, Nusa Tengarra Timur, and believe that your project could significantly support both the goals of this specific assignmentl, and at many other hospitals in the region.

The assignment's goal is to help the hospital develop a long-term vision and strategy for IT at the hospital and develop IT capacity in the community. At a glance, I can see an opportunity to both introduce GNU Health here (gradually), potentially develop and train IT staff from the community to support the system and help contribute back to the project, while being able to share the outcomes with other hospitals in the province.

The Hospital already has a billing system in place (APL Hospital Rescue 21+, MSSQL), but they are struggling with both their business processes/rules, and a lack of electronic inventory/stock control in their pharmacy. Aside from these immediate issues, they are not viewing or using the data collected by the Billing System as being usable for decision support, and are affected by conventional infrastructure issues, such as rampant virus activity, substantial non-original software, BYO devices and a lack of funding for Software+Support contracts on their current Billing System software.

The opportunity I see here for GNU Health would be to address a number of these issues (functionality, security, affordability and compatibility) in an elegant solution that the local community can participate in both supporting and developing.

Are there service providers based in Indonesia that specialise in implementing GNU Health? Alternatively, is it possible to get access to contacts or background information on the implementations completed in Indonesia to date? Any support you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance for your assistance.
