The reason we have a newborn as a "separate entity" is because it does
not have the ID immediately.

The best way to take care of this situation is to link the patient to
the newborn, with a many2one field. Then you would have all the
information. Now, you still need to come up the issue of the ID.

We can implement that feature in the upcoming 1.6.3 version. We'll
open a wishlist item in Savannah.
