Yes, I just got to the same conclusions. Expect 1.95.13 on Friday,
and 1.96.6 around the start of May (I prefer to have more ANSI
compliance issues fixed before I release it).
Actually 1.96.x has another place where it uses full paths, but
`strings' finds it quickly.

That would be the sid version (currently unstable) or woody (currently
frozen)? And I am curious, what is your relationship with address@hidden
and address@hidden (which I found by searching for gst on www.debian.org)?
