But it might also be a gas bug.

Reportedly the compilation should be fine

1. with Sun as + Sun ld,
2. with GNU as + GNU ld,
3. with GNU as + Sun ld + Sun grep (??)
4. passing to make CFLAGS="-gstabs -O2"
