ptrrefactor-pre-fixes.diff passes

fixes for the two issues.

ptrrefactor-post-fixes.diff passes
http://scompall.nocandysw.com/gst/ptrtests-post-nmaf+rdc.st .  It does
include fixes.

Both have changelog entries.
