Yes, of course. I think for OS X you need to disable shared libraries though.

Yes, it's in the SMTP package.

- What options for persistency and database access we have right now in GST?

MySQL, SQLite, PostgreSQL are all supported and have ROE bindings.

In addition, there's also SandstoneDb.
