Thank you, Richard. Some on another mailing list have taken umbrage at
Paolo's remarks on your behalf, and I have tried to calm the waters.

Thank you for your continuing work on GNU Smalltalk, which is important to
my work with One Laptop Per Child and Sugar Labs. I am one of those
writing the Etoys Reference Manual, including most of the work on Squeak.

We have several other manuals on Etoys.

Having access to pure and well-documented Smalltalk has been a great help
to me.

RMS has taken considerable interest in our work, even adopting an OLPC XO
as his main computer briefly, as the Freest hardware available until the
next, even Freer computer appeared. We have eliminated the proprietary
BIOS in favor of Open Firmware (BSD license), and we have moved on from
the Marvell 88W8388 WLAN chip, with its proprietary on-chip microkernel,
to the Marvell 88w8686, so I hope RMS will take another look.
