You may wish to pick up a copy of the latest
revision of the validate_repo.pl script from the
CVS repository:
http://cvs.savannah.nongnu.org/viewcvs/ccvs/contrib/validate_repo.pl?rev=HEAD&root=cvs
FWIW: I recommend using ssh as the transport and :ext: as the method.
