Summary:  make.conf file corruption

Original Submission:  Best emerge gui yet.  Need to allow simultaneous emerges 
though, like kemerge and portagemaster.

When saving make.conf after updating an item (I updated the PORTAGE_TMPDIR), 
the USE variables get corrupted.  When looking at the use variables in the USE 
OPTIONS, all of the correct variables were not highlighted based on the 
make.conf and make.defaults.  Attached a screenshot where bonobo was not 
selected after initial startup of kportage with a good make.conf.

make.defaults USE
USE="x86 oss 3dnow apm arts avi berkdb crypt cups encode gdbm gif gpm gtk imlib 
java jpeg kde gnome libg++ libwww mikmod mmx motif mpeg ncurses nls oggvorbis

corrupted make.conf USE (depicted exactly as is in the file except the last 
bonobo is on the line with xmms)
