Sorry for top-posting, I lack the time to respond appropriately at each issue in this thread.

Libre Planet QC was created at a time when FACIL, a local non-profit for free software advocacy in Quebec (Canada), was primarily focused on a government trial against the Regie des Rentes du Quebec for ignoring the procurement process in Quebec province. It had mostly abandoned community activity and LP Quebec seemed like the best vehicle to gather other organizations around a common goal (still described well on the wiki at https://libreplanet.org/wiki/Group:LibrePlanet_Qu%C3%83%C2%A9bec/).

Since then (~3 years) other free software activists, enthusiasts and professionals like me joined FACIL again and began a re-construction work starting with online resources (http://wiki.facil.qc.ca) and local activities (http://agendadulibre.qc.ca and http://sfd.facil.qc.ca, http://2015.sqil.info/), and most LP Quebec resources were moved/merged into FACIL's wiki. Most resources are in French but we welcome any help in translation, and any questions in English are welcome in the mailing list: https://listes.koumbit.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/forum-facil.qc.ca

An extensive list of individuals and organizations related to free open software projects and activities in Quebec province can be seen at:
http://wiki.facil.qc.ca/view/Informatique_libre_au_Qu%C3%A9bec

All of this is the results of sustained, dedicated work by many other people than me! Although I was FACIL president until recenly I'd like to highlight FACIL was founded 10 years ago and some of these resources (like the Agenda du Libre) were around but not consolidated and organized like has happened recently.

I still think LP Quebec needs to remain a proper resource in the LP Wiki, as can be seen in this thread some people will look there first to find what is happening in their part of the world (where they live or are visiting), so yeah, it's important to update it and I am sorry other efforts and priorities have taken over. This serves as a good reminder, I will most probably be touching the LP Wiki in the coming weeks unless someone else touches it first.

I am grateful to the FSF for all the resources and opportunities it creates and am hopeful local and global efforts can still improve and coordinate their common activities, which I think is something FACIL will also be working on this coming year.

All comments and suggestions are welcome, we may cross paths in a free sofwtare event if you're in Montreal some time soon ;)

    Hello everyone at Libre Planet,

My name is Daniel. I'm an eternal newbie (might as well let you
    know right
now ;-) who joined the libreplanet user group so I can learn more
    about
    LibrePlanet. I am since 2013, of course, a https://my.fsf.org/
    member as
    well.

    My question is this.

    When I go to https://libreplanet.org/wiki/Main_Page

i am unable to see my user page
    and
if I use the search engine, I can't either see my user page in the
    searh
    results

In addition to this, I notice that the Montreal/Quebec page has also
    dissapeared.

Can I trouble one of you to give me a hint in order to resolve
    this enigma
AND if this forum is not the correct place to post a newbie msg
    like this
one, please forward it or let me know where I should address myself.

Note that my fsf email address associated with this mail-list is:
    address@hidden <mailto:address@hidden>

    Tks in advance and namaste

    Daniel.

please share the user you are refering to if possible

1) My user is: https://libreplanet.org/wiki/User:Daniam

    >
    > In addition to this, I notice that the Montreal/Quebec page has also
    > dissapeared.

I found these links but none of them has usefull content

    https://libreplanet.org/wiki/LibrePlanet:Teams#Canada
    https://libreplanet.org/wiki/Quebec
    https://libreplanet.org/wiki/Quebec_City
    https://libreplanet.org/wiki/Montreal

2) Yes, these are the pages

I've given it a shot at "trying" to write something more convevial and I must admit that I'm not very familiar with this wiki media syntax (ggrrrr, I need seven lives to be able to learn everything)

Therefore, moving forward, I fixed this page to make the Montreal page look better. See: https://libreplanet.org/wiki/Montreal as the other pages you found and refer too do not apply in my case.

3) AND, I found the page (it's more than a page, it is a group!) I was thinking about is this one. Here is:

https://libreplanet.org/wiki/Group:LibrePlanet_Qu%C3%83%C2%A9bec/LicencesMicrosoftGratuites

~/k, this group appears abandonned.
https://libreplanet.org/wiki/Group:LibrePlanet_Qu%C3%83%C2%A9bec/

4) One thing for sure: The following url showing on the above Quebec page is obsolete:

http://libreplanet-qc.org/

It looks like the space created by: Fabian Rodriguez has been abandonned.

I know a little bit about Fabian Rodriguez and I know he is quite dedicated to the Open Source community. Therefore, please don't do anything else, I'll try to contact him differently.

I'll restore the backup locally to find out if theres something
    else in it.

I think this is the right place, but others should know better.
