http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=2832If Mike follows my advice at <URL:http://codereview.appspot.com/6498077#msg27>, it would make sense to use grob::calc-property-from-cause or whatever the respective equivalent of grob::calc-propert-by-copy would be called to initialize at least the transparent, color and font-size properties of clearly subordinate grobs like OctavateEight. If we had done that for Flag and Stem, probably most of the convert-ly pain would have been avoidable.
