http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=1730 David,I don't know the answer to your question - I don't keep separate branches only patches which I save and revert master and re-apply (it's clunky I know but it's easier for me to manage). So I can only assume that we had one of those periods of time when Master or Staging was screwed up and you had to do a lot of your reverting where we knew we lost commits.
It could be of course that I made a mistake and I unfortunately didn't include the commit lines above and below (i.e with Date and commit and author).
