We don't really have a way of checking a context's idea of a grob property  
without actually creating the grob, right?  _Should_ we be doing this?

I think that the design here should be done also considering the  
implementation of alternative staves, staves that _never_ appear when  
another staff or staff group appears.

This will require us to specify sort of an alternative suicide condition,  
and maybe it would have a useful relation with \neverEmpty.
