The interface looks clear enough, but in choral music I've only seen
transitions like these at line breaks, usually with divergent or
convergent arrows to indicate the splitting and rejoining of staves.
As a singer I'd be confused by the blank staves before and after the
transitions.  I'm not familiar with orchestral music, but I'd be
surprised if that were different.  Breaks can always be inserted
manually of course, but that can be done already.
