Somehow my mail in

went by unnoticed, so I repeat my proposal: We should document that
\partial can’t be used with zero duration. To be more precise:
In NR 1.2.3,
http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.19/Documentation/notation/displaying-rhythms#upbeats,
change the third sentence
‘When \partial is used after the beginning of a score, duration is the
remaining length of the current measure’
into
‘When \partial is used after the beginning of a score, duration is the
remaining length of the current measure, which cannot be zero.’
Or something equivalent and better phrased (native speakers forward :-)).
