Hi --I'd like to run multiple instances of Linphone, each with the ability to independently adjust its own volume. When Linphone uses the default ALSA device, it adjusts the PCM volume which changes the volume of the whole system.
I've got ALSA's softvol plug-in working. I've created four new 'devices' in my asound.conf and can play to them using 'aplay -D new_chan1 file.wav'. I can independently adjust the volume for each device without affecting the system volume.
I can't seem to figure out how to get Linphone to use these devices, though. No matter what I change 'playback_dev_id=' to in .linphonerc, it's always overwritten with 'ALSA: default device' whenever I run linphonec.
Is there a way to force Linphone to use a plugin/virtual device? Also, is it possible with the mediastream test utility?
Regards, Cameron
