Dear allI'm currently playing with linphone 3.4.1 on my two Xubuntu 64-bit systems (10.04 and 10.10) using a SIP account from @iptel.org (and previously with @sip.linphone.org and even @ekiga.net). Audio seems quite robust; I've tested using address@hidden and address@hidden, and by calling the other Xubuntu system on the same internet connection.
However I get very bad video performance, and I cannot pin down the issue to linphone/codec, my internet connection or proxy performance. When I call myself on the other Xubuntu system, the video is very jerky and pixelized, and my network monitor shows an average download and upload speed of 10 kbytes/s. Using Skype to call my friends I get consistent down/up speeds of 70kbytes/s and very acceptable video quality. As far as the linphone prefs go, I use h264 on one box and mp4v-es on the other, with 256kbit/s down limit and 128kbit/s up limit (my internet connection can easily do down speeds of 400-500kbit/s when the server permits it).
Any ideas on what's wrong with the setup? Can somebody suggest a SIP number to test the video quality? I've tried address@hidden [1], but it looks broken. And an internet search didn't get me anywhere. Thank you
