lout for linux

Somebody recently suggested making a distribution for linux and placing it on
one of the linux ftp servers.  I did not initially warm to the idea, as lout
compiles out of the box for linux.  On the other hand, if somebody out there
has a reasonably good connection to sunsite or tsx-11, then it might actually
be a very good idea to place the lout *sources* on these servers.  The reason
is simply that they would then be mirrored all over the place, and then also
eventually appear on CDROMS, so that it would no longer be such a hassle
getting the stuff from Australia.  (The German networks are unbelievably slow!)
