Hi,

just a couple of questions:

* will it be working with PDF back-end (or will ps2pdf produce
usefull PDF with it, i.e. without Type3 fonts)?

* your kerning based on unacctended characters produces highly
unsatisfactory results with characters like tcaron or dcaron,
especially in small fonts like footnotes (see in
  http://www.volny.cz/cepls/ps-pdf/ files ce-font.ps.gz,
  ce-fonts.pdf, and ce-fonts.lt respectively)

Actually, I have some remarks on PDF generally as well:

* I tested Expert's Guide produced by lout -Z command and it
seems to me that there are no links from the table of content
(promised on page 79 of the user's guide). I used to use
pdflatex, and there were links even from footnotes and
  citations to their respective targets.

* What's much worse is that some lines are strangely squeezed
  down in Acrobat Reader 4.0 (like with approx. {1.5 1.0} @Scale )

* What's even worse is that the same .pdf breaks GhostScript (and
GhostView as well -- both tested on Win98, Aladdin GhostScript
  6.01 (2000-03-17), GSView32 2.8 (2000-02-17)); attached to this
  message is output of command

  gswin32 expert.pdf

This last comment relates only to PDF produced directly by lout
-- ps2pdf version is OK (unfortunately without links).

                Have a nice day
