Forcing a table to span multiple pages

Hi All,

Sorry for asking what's probably an obvious question. I'm trying to get a 
table to span several pages but whenever it gets bigger than the page I keep 
getting the message:

26.3c object too high for 23.7c space; @Scale inserted

and the table is squashed onto one page. How can I suppress this scaling? 
I've scoured the documentation but I can't seem to find the answer.
