If Lynx used select()-polled network I/O, it could do asynchronous file
downloads (perhaps with a multipane text window?), asynchronous reloads
(i.e. you could continue to use the current page until the new one is
loaded), asynchronous stylesheet loading (Lynx + SLANG or color ncurses +
CSS would be a killer combination!), multiple browser instances in a
single process (especially important if someone tries to port Lynx to DOS,
where you can have only one process at a time,) and perhaps (someday)
asynchronous downloading of client-side scripts.

Just an idea. Let's not keep it that way, OK?
