Well, I just tried it and it worked fine using Lynx 2.6 with updates (My
binary is dated 10/25) on HP-UX 10.01 (the actual build was on 9.05 for
compatibility across our systems).

I agree with Duncan. It sounds like a network problem with a timeout like
that. It might be a problem with socks. Have you tried the socks patches
that Tom Zerucha did? I don't use socks, so don't really know a thing
about it or what the patches do...
