Hi!

I'm Mike Brudenell, a Systems Programmer in the Computing Service at the
University of York in the UK.

I've just been compiling up the latest (2.6) version of Lynx to replace
our aging 2.4.2 version with and encountered what seems to be a bug.

After compiling a vanilla Lynx 2.6 and then attempting to access one of
our pages which contains quite a large table Lynx crashes out with a
SIGBUS signal.

The details are:

Platform:
        SGI IRIX 5.3

Command and URL:
        lynx http://www.york.ac.uk/ServerSupport/UsageStats/

Error message reported to the debugger:
Process 3700 (lynx) stopped on signal SIGBUS: Bus error
                (handler FatalProblem) [__malloc:208 ,0xfabc5cc]

Debugger dump of called functions:

0 __malloc(0x43, 0xfffffffb, 0x48, 0xfb5267c)
  ["malloc.c":208, 0xfabc5cc]

1 _malloc(0x43, 0xfffffffb, 0x48, 0xfb5267c)
  ["malloc.c":185, 0xfabf1dc]

2 HTSACopy(0x7fff99ec, 0x100687a0, 0x48, 0xfb5267c)
  ["../../Library/Implementation/HTString.c":82, 0x46ab60]

3 HTAnchor_address(0x10068728, 0xfffffffb, 0x48, 0xfb52 67c)
  ["../../Library/Implementation/HTAnchor.c":719, 0x4750a4]

4 display_page(0x1004bbd0, 0x0, 0x7fffa660, 0xfb5267c)
  ["GridText.c":810, 0x4132a4]

5 HText_pageDisplay(0x43, 0xfffffffb, 0x48, 0xfb5267c)
  ["GridText.c":1997, 0x415f34]

6 mainloop(0x43, 0xfffffffb, 0x48, 0xfb5267c)
  ["LYMainLoop.c":644, 0x424438]

7 main(0x3, 0x100002bc, 0x0, 0x3)
  ["LYMain.c":1131, 0x4206f8]

8 __start()
  ["crt1text.s":133, 0x40afbc]

The old, 2.4.2, version of Lynx doesn't crash on this URL (but obviously
doesn't handle the table at all well!).

If you have any suggestions or things you want me to try please e-mail me
directly as I am not a member of this mailing list.

Cheers and thanks,
