Well, as previously stated, .com is MOST LIKELY the US, but there also
appear to be .com's in Canada and possibly other countries.

I think maybe you misunderstood the difference between advanced mode and
what it does. The differences in the way it displays the URL is not on
the "=" page... Advanced mode displays the URL of the current link on the
bottom of the screen so that you don't have to hit "=" to see where the
current link will take you.

This really isn't the place of Lynx to handle stuff like this. There IS a
tool that will give you the info you want. It's called 'whois'. You use
it by typing whois followed by the domain that you want info about (not
individual machines). Normally you'd use it to find something like
wfbr.edu and discover that Fote is located in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.
(No, it doesn't list his address... ;) ) If you want to find out where a
top level domain such as .es is, use a query like 'whois es-dom' and
you'll find out it's Spain. Sometimes you may have to get a little
creative with your searches, but you'll figure out what works and what
doesn't to get the info you need.

If typing 'whois' doesn't work, you can always telnet to
'whois.internic.net' and do the query there.
