Subject: LYNX-DEV Posting to News fails with Lynx 2.6

This is an old problem here at DIGEX. Posting to News worked
with Lynx 2.4.2 but hasn't worked since.

The current OS version is indicated by

SunOS access1 4.1.4 1 sun4m unknown

The problem data collected below are from Lynx 2.6, reasonably
vanilla. I don't know what curses etc. switches DIGEX threw
in the Makefile when they compiled.

Here is a screen snap from the edit session when I activated the
"post to digex.test" button after g)o-ing to news:digex.test .

The From: header above was filled in by Lynx. The other
headers were blank until I edited them.

The following error message went by in a flash:

I fear that this may be related to the problem Pat Ferguson was
having with mail posting and Lynx 2.5 which we never tracked
down. There we were able to confirm that the mailgrams were
being sent out with a spurious blank line infiltrating the
header, so that header fields following the spurious blank line
were not recognized as part of the header by mail tools.
