What code are you using? A 401 is not authorized, and Lynx
will prompt you for another username/password, at which point you
can cancel. Other 4xx errors have bodies you should be able to
see (it'll be source for a download, but you still should be able
to see it). Include most, or it's equivalent, as one of your
download menu options (as recommented in the v2.7 lynx.cfg). most
is good because it automatically will switch to hexadecimal display
mode if the file has characters indicative of a binary. Suppress
that feature in the print menu, so it won't get triggred by 8-bit
printing characters (see the v2.7 lynx.cfg about that issue too).
