Another excerpt from the man page for rsh:

      Redirection of output is not allowed in the restricted shell.

:(  I had a fun time with this here since they decided to put sendmail in
a restricted shell.  They installed procmail systemwide, but the output
goes to the console, and root asked me to see if I could get rid of it,
and I tried > /dev/null, and my mail wasn't being delivered.  I finally
tracked it to the above... <sigh>
