I've figured out the problem why it would not copy in the `..' directory.
I had very little free space left over so I did some drastic deleting and
recieved the `welcome to lynx' message.

When I ran `make install', this is what I got back though...

[snip]

make install
UX:make: ERROR: don't know how to make install (bu42).
$ pwd
/home/Titus/local/bin
$ cd
$ cd lynx27/lynx2-7
$ make install
        mv -f /home/Titus/local/bin/lynx /home/Titus/local/bin/lynx.old
        mv -f /home/Titus/local/bin/lynx.cfg /home/Titus/local/bin/lynx.oldcfg
        install -c -s -m 555 lynx /home/Titus/local/bin/lynx
UX:strip: ERROR: /home/Titus/local/bin/lynx: cannot open file for writing
        install -c -m 444 lynx.man /home/Titus/local/man/man1/lynx.1
        install -c -m 444 lynx.cfg /home/Titus/local/bin/lynx.cfg
$

[snip]

I checked the directories and the Executable is there, however I do not
understand the strip error as above. Is this ok or should I chmod the
file that cannot be opened for writing??

Thnaks a million!
