Now that you mentioned that other bug fix (see below), I tend to think
that the original message starting this thread bug report was just about
that bug.  (And that my "fix" was probably not related to it.)

Aha!  I could have saved us some time if I had read that (or remembered
it)... Maybe, like Wayne, I should write something on my monitor.
"Seek CHANGES!" rather than "Seek Help!"...

Probably it was just that old one.  Going back through the messages,
nobody seems to have claimed that it happend on Lynx 2.7 with bugfixes
applied.  Instead I found the statement

"I don't usually use patches, just wait for the next versions to come out."

I guess that ends the matter..
