It sounds like our goals can coincide without a major culture clash.

With the changes made during the autoconf'ing work, it's shouldn't take a lot
more for a group to figure out how to get the per-platform support to work.

The one concern I have right now is the libwww.a code.  Is that code
being autoconf'd as well?
