LYNX-DEV Win NT source dump; CR/LF

Using Lynx 2.7 for Win32, running on Windows NT 3.51, I can't seem to
avoid having carriage returns converted to CR/LF when attempting to
download binary files from the Web in this manner:

lynx -source http://......source.gif > file.gif

I do not encounter this problem using Unix on a workstation.  I haven't
found mention of this problem on the Net.  Am I missing a "binary"
switch somewhere?  Is this inherent in the ">" operator?  Can you offer
any suggestions?  Thank you very much.
