LYNX-DEV FTP proxy

I'm trying to set up Lynx to use my TIS fwtk ftp proxy.
Using normal ftp, I would type: ftp firewall
                    and then e.g: address@hidden

I have set up the ftp proxy line in lynx.cfg to read
ftp_proxy:ftp://firewall.domain.com:21/

But when I try using a 'g'oto: ftp://firewall.domain.com
I get "cannot access document" every time.  

How should I have set it up?
