For someone mainly lurking, and certainly not programming (don't
use C), there are too many lynx mail msgs to read them all on busy
days. So I pick and choose, based on the part of the subject line
that shows in mail's summary "h" display, eg:
{netcom20:272} mail -H >! t25
{netcom20:273} egrepi lynx t25

{netcom20:274}
Note how much room the "RE: LYNX-DEV" (usually followed by the word "lynx"
in the subject itself) takes up, and how much useful subject-info
gets truncated away.
Maybe if the RE: was removed, and the LYNX-DEV was changed
to LYNXD or something shorter, one could better tell what
was likely revelant.
Yes, of course, one could reply "hey, either read the whole
thing, or get off the group!", and might be correct, too.
----
Unrelated question: as you can see, I use standard unix mail.
Line mode, too (sort of necessary over unix "tip" connection --
even vi display gets munged).
Any suggestions for other unix-friendly mail reader, usable
on shell-account on isp?
(re munging screen: mail is fine, more, less, trn, also ok.
but not vi)
thanks!
