LYNX-DEV Netscape allergic to Lynx?

Subject: LYNX-DEV Netscape allergic to Lynx?

Browsing at Red Hat Software site (with Netscape), I happened to
follow the links leading me to Lynx. I was curious to learn about the
project since I am strongly in favor of open software. When I clicked
on the Lynx links (intending to get a copy of Lynx) my Netscape window
mysteriously vanished! I repeated the experience a second time with
the same result. Would Netscape be allergic to Lynx and try to prevent
people from getting another browser? Are you aware of such a policy or
have he been simply "unlucky". And if it is really so that Netscape
prevents you from connecting to some sites, is it legal?

 Thanks.

(PS: Permanent address address@hidden . I have Red Hat
Linux (and Lynx, but an "old" version, at home)
