LYNX-DEV 2 questions

I'm glad to use lynx, but I'have one trouble:

somethimes when lynx try to connect to x place, all the characters turn like:
address@hidden|==()&&^^&%%%
and other more curius. How can I fix it?

An one more question. How can I know my lynx version?
