No.  The standard version compiles for linux 2.0.30, i386, with gcc
2.7.2 and ncurses.  Earlier versions are included in Slackware 3.1.
The development tools for Linux take less than about 10MB and compiling
Lynx from source is really quite painless.  Actually, versions back to 
2.2 of Lynx, or before, and 1.1 series kernels also build with no problems.
