checking if the compiler understands -pipe... yes
I found this in the ssh configure script.. It would be nice to see that in
the lynx configure script, too. (If I understand it correctly, -pipe runs
the preprocessor and compiler together in a pipe, not via temporary files,
which (the pipe) is faster.)
