And the point of my answer is that lynx has two options - download the
entire file, or download the HEAD info (name, last update, size, and
a few other goodies) . That's all you get.
Doesn't rpm download the entire file to extract pieces
anyways? Unless it's using a non-ftp, non-gopher, non-http protocol to
access the URL I don't see how it couldn't. However, perhaps it downloads
it to a pipe. In that case, I am unable to help...
