LYNX-DEV addressing mail to your friends

It appears that some of you have discovered a way to sent mail
to your friends by using a link on some web page which is intended
to send requests for help with the Lynx program.

It would seem that you are activating this "mailto" link and then
entering your friend's address in the "send a copy to" address line.
This works.

Unfortunately, it also sends mail to the address@hidden mailbox,
which gets distributed to hundreds of Lynx volunteers and fans around
the world, and displayed to the world on the WWW. See, for example,

 LYNX-DEV http://lynx.browser.org/hotmail.com
 http://www.flora.org/lynx-dev/html/month0997/msg00474.html

Please understand that the link you are selecting _always_ sends the
mail to the help line. To send mail to your friends, find another
way. If you have an AOL account, it has an email function. Hotmail
has forms to send mail. Even in lynx, you can send mail to anyone
you want if you learn how to spell mailto: URLs at the g)o prompt.

To start a mail-sending dialog, use the 'g' key for g)o and when it
asks you what URL to open type

mailto:address@hidden

for example mailto:address@hidden

Then you can send each other mail from Lynx without copying the world.

Hope that helps,
