It seems you are trying to use the development code from
<URL:http://sol.slcc.edu/lynx/current/>, although you don't say so and we
can only guess (from the mail headers, in this case).

Do you have slang installed?

What operating system are you using?

Have you run configure?  (see README.configure; try ./configure --help)

"i get a error.. something about color" is much too vague.
